Roberto Gil, Director of Organizational Development
Roberto oversees the Organizational Development work at Sacred Heart, and has been a team member at SHCS since 2006. He has developed his leadership and success at Sacred Heart by expanding his portfolio from Youth Education Coordinator to Family Advocate to Education Manager to Self-Sufficiency Director in nearly two decades. He now oversees the organization's work on all-agency development, training & engagement in emergency preparedness, social and racial justice, staff leadership, well-being and professional development. His experience ranges from organizational development, child, youth, and adult education programming, systems change, employment services, and asset development programs to urban gardening, food justice, and policy and community organizing. All the work and programs he has led involve building individual empowerment, mutual support networks, and collective power by pushing for more equitable systems in Santa Clara County. Roberto holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from San José State University and a Masters of Arts in Educational Leadership and Administration from Santa Clara University. He is passionate about transformational leadership, community-led prevention and intervention, political education, and working towards building power in marginalized communities to work towards structural change.
