We all deserve access to healthy, affordable food. Our volunteers offer two essential food programs: a three-day supplemental supply of groceries and an assortment of food for members who are currently homeless that requires no prep or cooking. Due to COVID-19, we are currently not zip-code restricted and everyone who lives in Santa Clara County can come for food once per week. Interested community members can register online to become a member of Sacred Heart:

Families may visit the Clothes Closet to browse and shop twice per month for high-quality clothing, shoes, accessories, and linens donated by local community members. Every family member can take home up to 5 articles of clothing — all free of charge.

Urban Gardening with La Mesa Verde

This network of over 600 urban gardeners provides organic backyard gardens to 50 new families every year, creating a community for over 10 years. Together, we challenge injustice in the food system by producing our own food in a supportive community, and by organizing for real changes that improve access to food in San José.
